PREVENTION OF INFECTION SPREAD MEASURES

OKU Kos has health, safety, security and wellbeing of our guests and staff as uttermost priority. As we continue to monitor global developments relating to Covid-19, we have created new guidelines following the recommendations by the Greek Government and World Health Organization.

We believe in transparently complying to all guidelines and protocols. Please find below an excerpt of procedures, which are implemented in the operations of all hotel departments such as Reception, Food & Beverage outlets, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Spa & Gym as well as Swimming Pools.

In these times it is more important than ever to mind our and others wellbeing. Therefore, we kindly ask all our guests to follow common guidelines of social distancing, sneeze & cough etiquette as well as increased hand hygiene.

Crisis Management

OKU Kos has established a Crisis & Emergency Team consisting of higher management members, who received extensive training regarding COVID – 19 measures, responses and actions.

Further, all team members have received training and practice in intense hygiene and safety procedures.

We proceed to closely monitor new guidelines and implement updates immediately.


Personal Hygiene & Safety Measures

All public and team areas are equipped with contactless sanitizing & disinfection stations, which we recommend to use frequently.

All hotel areas are cleaned and sanitized following strict protocol at scheduled intervals. Public and Team Member areas are cleaned at scheduled intervals. High-touch areas are maintained and sanitized at an hourly schedule.


Front Office – still welcoming with a smile

  • All doors will be kept open at all times to ensure fresh air regulation without use of A/C

  • Sanitation station to ensure personal hygiene

  • Check in /out procedures with safety signage for social distancing

  • Contactless payment and electronic invoicing

  • Strict and frequent disinfection of all equipment such as room keys & POS

  • Frequent disinfection of all surfaces

  • Medical Kit dedicated only for Covid-19 cases

  • Trained staff with Personal Protective Equipment

  • Necessary information for the health protocols followed in the property as well as on the island


Housekeeping – feel safe and comfortable

  • Use of all obligatory personal protective equipment by our cleaning team

  • Alternation of the cleaning schedule to minimize contact (eg. Linen & towels are changed twice a week)

  • Daily Cleaning only upon request

  • Room service instead of Minibar

  • Deep steam-cleaning of room and bathroom after departure

  • All surfaces are frequently cleaned and disinfected

  • Personal Hygiene Kit for your convenience

  • A/C operation with the windows open

  • Sealed bags for laundry service

  • Washing Machines operate according to temperatures and dosage of detergents set by the World Health Organization to ensure the safe cleaning of all our linen/towels


Bars & Restaurants – enjoy to your fullest

  • Hand-sanitization for entering and exiting of bar/restaurant

  • Utensils and equipment are served upon seating

  • All tables are arranged according to Legal Standards

  • Single use napkins in all F&B areas

  • Service team wears personal protective equipment at all times


Swimming Pools & Public Areas – relax safely

  • Sun beds and seating is arranged according to distance rules

  • We kindly ask our guests to comply with social distancing when using pools

  • Frequent disinfection of umbrellas, sunbeds, seats and floors

  • All pool waters are treated with appropriate products and as per extensive company procedures for water management


Maintenance – keeping it working

  • Any maintenance required will be conducted by appointment without guests present

  • Maintenance team is required to wear suitable protective equipment at all times

  • All contacted areas of work are disinfected before and after
